East Carolina’s Bishop Search
About our Search for the IX Bishop of the Diocese of East Carolina
On November 16, 2024, Bishop Rob Skirving, the eighth bishop of East Carolina, called for the election of his successor. This call initiated a search process led by the Standing Committee. On this page, you will find updates, communications, and information from the Standing Committee and the search process subcommittees that will be formed. The Standing Committee invites your prayers for this process, and they have provided a collect below.
A Collect for Our Bishop Search
Gracious and loving God, guide the hearts and minds of those among us who will search for a new bishop to lead the Diocese of East Carolina, that we may listen carefully to discern your will and call a bishop who will love and serve your people in all the communities of this diocese and lead us forward in new ways in our ministries and service to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
