This year, we have four workshop offerings on Friday, February 10th, and workshops are open to all in the diocese. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Delegates will register for workshops in their registration process. All non-delegates may register for workshops using the link button below:

You are invited to choose a workshop from each time slot (1:30 PM and 3:00 PM) on Friday, February 10th.
1:30 PM on Friday, February 10th FORWARD TOGETHER: Fostering Collaboration for Ministry Among Smaller Parishes? led by Tommy Drake (Consulant for Small Church Leadership)
This workshop is especially for lay leadership of small parishes. A reoccurring question is,How might smaller parishes better network to foster growth and sustainability? This workshop will look at ways of connecting and collaborating, particularly in parishes that don’t have a resident clergy. Participants are asked to be prepared to share one success story from their local church context. Be ready to learn from each other!

1:30 PM on Friday, February 10th DISCIPLESHIP by DESIGN led by Mrs. Emily Gowdy Canady (Missioner for Lifelong Christian Formation)
This workshop will offer an interactive opportunity to learn more about Mission Priority “LEARN” ( Lifelong Christian Formation). Participants will experience ways of engaging adult learners and intergeneration learners in innovative discipleship and faith formation models. Participants should come prepared to actively engage and read to learn something new with their parish!

3:00 PM on Friday, February 10th DIGITAL MINISTRY IS HERE TO STAY led by The Rev’d Thomas Warren (Rector, St. Mary’s, Kinston) This workshop is for both small and large parishes. Post-COVID more churches are engaging in web-based ministry each day. Church using online giving or providing online worship are finding technology lets them expand other ministries. This workshop will help you consider ways you can connect digitally with your congregation and your community.
3:00 PM on Friday, February 10th CARE OF CREATION with the SOUND TO SEA PROGRAM led by Mindy Furrer (Education Director at Trinity Camp and Conference Center)
Come learn how the Sound to Sea Environmental Education Program at Trinity Center can enhance your own programming during your retreat. Sound to Sea is committed to using hands-on activities to meet each group’s educational needs and to increasing awareness of communities. We increase awareness of ecological communities by utilizing the habitats on Trinity Center’s property, and human communities by promoting positive group dynamics. Programming can help your group as they work together to advocate for justice and peace for all of God’s children; one of the Mission Priorities adopted at the previous convention.
Sound to Sea offers programs that help participants appreciate the interconnectedness of the habitats on our barrier island. While diving into issues such as human impact and global climate change we will help connect participants to the Presiding Bishop’s goals of Creation Care. At our workshop, we will sample some of the activities you might encounter during a program as well as learn how we can meet the needs of your group!
